Alternative Excavation Shoring

Ground Freezing

 

Hensel Phelps brings ground freezing technology to the new construction of our Waste Water Treatment Plant in Kailua, Hawaii. Mr. Richard Crago, Operations Manager with Hensel Phelps, dives into the advantages, challenges, and unknowns of using ground freezing as the shoring of choice in this unique excavation.

Mr. Richard Crago is an Operations Manager at Hensel Phelps with over 26 years of construction experience, 19 of those in Hawaii. Mr. Crago is a Licensed Civil Engineer and is also a certified Design-Build Professional (DBIA).

As Operations Manager, Mr. Crago provides our project teams and clients the leadership and vision crucial to the success of each project assigned. By implementing our proven systems, he assures that all client budgetary and quality goals are met. These systems thoroughly evaluate project finances, schedule and schedule management, resource allocation and quality assurance. Mr. Crago is fully versed in all areas of estimating, purchasing, engineering, super intendency, and project management on both new construction programs and renovation projects.

Mr. Crago is recently completed the two Wastewater Projects in Hawaii, the Kaneohe Tunnel Influent Facility, the Kailua Regional Wastewater Treatment Plant Tunnel Influent Pump Station and Headworks Facility. He is presently overseeing the new Hawaii State Hospital and the Waianae Wastewater Treatment Plant.
